ABOUT US
A unique collaboration developed between Silk & Laine and the Ukrainian dance community to find a weaver to create custom-made fabric specifically for traditional dance costume pieces due to the lack of availability locally and in Ukraine.
Silk & Laine accepted the challenge and embarked on a journey overseas where we were immersed in the splendor of antiquity and culture of Turkish textiles. Our Turkish artisan weavers are renowned for their craftsmanship and use of natural vegetable-dyed fibres. Only the finest quality 100% Turkish cotton is used.
This fabric design shown can be used to create a Ukrainian traditional skirt (plakhta), an important piece to the Ukrainian dance costume OR create your own unique fashion piece!
Our fabric is pre-washed and available for purchase by the metre.
